Accompanied by the gentle harmonies of All In My Mind, rising star Isaac Gracie strode across the stage open shirted with long blonde hair draped across his face and crucifix wrapped around his neck.
Since uploading his self-produced demo Last Words to BBC Introducing back in 2015, Isaac’s career has now skyrocketed having been played by the likes of Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and now stood before a sold-out crowd at London’s Village Underground.
Inspired by greats such as Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen, it is no surprise the intense impact of Isaac’s lyricism hits with such devastating force and has caught the ears of millions of listeners worldwide.
Performing his track Terrified, it is perhaps one of his most reflective moments on stage, one laced with anguish and self-doubt and hauntingly beautiful with harmonies reminiscent of Pixies Where Is My Mind?
Both The Death Of You And I and Isaac’s cover of Arctic Monkey’s Fluorescent Adolescent was a vigorous and playful display of an artist capable of breaking the shackles of solemnity and sharing an elated moment with his audience.
Although Silhouettes Of You has Isaac singing “I’m tired of living in the shadows”, he needn’t worry as new track Running On Empty is a step outside of the murky depths of fear and uncertainty and sees Isaac basking in the radiant possibilities of a long and prosperous career ahead.
